Guidelines for a Quilt Square to Qualify for Trail Registry:
The Fulton Montgomery Quilt Barn Trail (FMQBT) vision is to create a visual trail using unique quilt barn squares to connect the outdoor landscape throughout Fulton and Montgomery Counties.
The following criteria is used to determine whether a location or square will be added to the FMQBT:
LOCATION -- Well traveled, preferably paved road
- Easily visible from the roadway
- Structure in reasonable condition (barn, shed, garage, building)
- Vicinity of structure is tidy
- Owner of structure is willing to complete “Fulton Montgomery Quilt Barn Trail Agreement” for registry on trail
QUILT SQUARE -- The pattern may be a pieced or appliqué design with individual influences
- The Quilt Barn Square cannot be a company logo or use advertising language for a business
- Recommended to be 4’ by 4’ in size or larger to be on “Primary” Quilt Barn Trail and smaller squares will be located on “Secondary” Quilt Barn Trail. A definition of the primary and secondary trails is located on the FMQBT Agreement.
